For wedding photographers and other event vendors
Booked that Saturday? Send the couple to someone who is actually free.
Name the colleagues you would already recommend. Datepass emails them a yes-or-no question about the date. The couple gets a page listing the ones who said yes.
Sending asks and receiving them from colleagues who named you are free.

How a pass works
1
Name your colleagues
Add the people you would already send a couple to. You tick a box for each one to confirm you know them and they would expect to hear from you.
2
Ask about the date
When you cannot take a date, tick who to ask and press send. Each person gets an email with a yes button and a no button. The email says who is asking and shows your email address.
3
Send the couple one link
You copy a short reply with a link to the couple's page into your own email to them. A name appears on that page only after that person tapped yes, with the time they did.
4
The couple chooses
The couple picks one or more people and writes one message. It goes to those people by email and replies go straight to the couple. If it turns into a booking, your colleague taps a button and you get a note.
Your own date page works even if no colleague has joined
Every member gets a page to link from a bio or website. A couple enters a date. If your calendar shows it open, they can send you their inquiry. If you are booked and have turned on automatic passes, they can press See who is free, which asks your colleagues and opens a page that fills as they answer. A visitor can start one such ask a day.
Your calendar's details stay private
You can enter booked dates by hand or paste a private calendar address. Datepass keeps only which dates are busy and discards event titles, descriptions, locations and attendees. Nobody can view your calendar. Someone can learn that one date is booked by checking it on your date page, by sending you an ask, or because you named them and they are checking that date. A calendar only decides who to skip. It never puts a name on a couple's page.
A record of who sent whom what
For each colleague, your page shows how many asks and inquiries went each way and how many became bookings. Only you can see your record.

Who it is for
Datepass is built around wedding photographers who turn dates away. It works the same for videographers, DJs, officiants, photo booths, florists, planners, hair and makeup artists and bands.
Questions
- Do the people I name need an account?
- No. They answer from the email. The confirmation page offers them the same thing, free, and nothing more happens unless they press that button.
- What do my colleagues receive, and can they stop it?
- One email per ask, with your name and email address, the date and two buttons. It contains no advertising. A one-click link stops asks from you, or all asks and inquiries from anyone, effective at once. Nobody receives more than 5 asks in 7 days from members who press send, plus at most 1 started by a couple on a member's date page.
- What happens to what the couple types?
- Their name, address and message go by email to the people they pick. Datepass does not store them or write them to logs, and the couple gets no mail from Datepass.
- Can I take an ask back?
- Yes, before or after answers come in. Nothing further goes out and the couple's page says the ask has ended.
- Do you take a cut of bookings?
- No. Datepass charges no referral fee, shows no prices and does not handle payment between you and the couple.
- Who is this not for?
- Datepass is not a directory, and couples cannot browse it. It does not check anyone's work, licence or insurance, so name only people you would recommend. A yes means that person said they were free when they tapped, not that they will take the booking.
- How do I cancel Open Book?
- From your page, in the billing portal. Open Book keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, and everything free keeps working after that.
- Do you give refunds?
- We refund a charge if it produced no access because of our failure, or if your Open Book period had no second-hop ask and you ask within 30 days of that charge. You can request it from your page.
- Can I delete my data?
- Yes, from your page. That removes your member record, your asks, your calendar data and your record of passes. Other members who dealt with you keep your name in their own records, and asks they sent you keep your address until 90 days after the date. Asks are otherwise deleted 90 days after their date.
